About Me

Welcome to 4th Grade!

My name is Alyssa Nelson and I am the 4th grade teacher.  I am from Colorado and have lived here my whole life.  I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado and earned my teaching degree with an emphasis in history.  This is my 13th year teaching.  I have taught 5th - 3rd grade, but love 4th grade the most and am excited to spend the year with your students helping them learn and grow! 

Want to know a little about me?  When I’m not here at school grading papers and preparing to teach, I enjoy doing all sorts of activities with my family.  I enjoy kayaking and paddle boarding during the summer, and snowboarding during the winter.  I grew up ice skating and was a competitive figure skater for many years.  I love to travel, and visit and experience different parts of the world and other cultures.
