Library Visit

The Library Media Center is visited by your child weekly during the Music, Art, and P.E. rotation. They visit as a class for a scheduled lesson/check out time. During this visit your child has lessons based on library skills that will last a lifetime. They are also allowed to check out.

Pre-Kindergarten check out one book that is left in their classroom.

Kindergarten and First grade check out one book that is brought home for one week.

Second, third, fourth and fifth grade can check out two books (one testable on their lexile level, a free choice book). They may keep the books as long as they need to read them.

With COVID 19 protocols in place, books returned will be isolated for the 72 hour recommended time before they are checked back in. Honesty on book returns will be important, so the student doesn't end up with a ton of books out.

There are no late fees. Each child is responsible to bring their library materials back in good condition. If the materials are lost or ruined there will be a loss of checkout privileges until the materials are paid for. Students can either pay the office for the lost book or talk with Mrs. Takahashi about working the book off.
