    1. Brainstorm a great project first—don’t keep changing topics!

    2. What are you good at? What would you like to fine-tune, develop further, and present to others?

    3. What do you want to do after high school? Is there a career choice you would like to explore?

    4. What skills or talents would you like to learn?

    5. Is there something you have always wanted to do and this might give you the opportunity to explore it?

    6. Start early.

    7. Plan.

    8. Organize.

    9. Get your forms in early, if not on time.

    10. Keep in touch with your advisor and mentor (if you have one).

    11. Look at your checklist frequently.

    12. Keep organized.

    13. Work on it—don’t just think about it.

    14. Keep planning and organizing your project!

    15. Check in with your advisor!

    16. Use advisory as an opportunity to meet with your advisor and work on your project!

    17. Plan out your presentation early—sign up for materials, space, including required forms and signatures no later than the due date!

  1. Keep a detailed log from the beginning—don’t leave it to the end! Try using the log, spreadsheet or chart to keep track of Date, Time, Total Hours, and a short Summary of Progress!
