Advanced Opportunities
Advanced Opportunities allow students to individualize their high school learning. The Fast Forward program was developed by the State Department of Education to provide aid for students to accelerate through their K-12 education, and to provide support to earn college credit in high school.
Fast Forward Program
The Fast Forward program is available to all Idaho public school students in grades 7-12. Students have access to $4,125 to use towards these Advanced Opportunities:
- Overload Courses - High school level overload classes that are taken in excess of the student's regular school day. The Fast Forward program can pay up to $225.00 for the cost of the course.
- Dual Credits - Dual credit classes taken by high school students are transcribed on their high school and college transcripts. The Fast Forward program can pay for up to $75.00 per credit
- Exams - College credit-bearing exams or professional certificate exams, including Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), or Career Technical Education (CTE) exams. See the full list of qualifying exams.
