I played 4 years of college baseball at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I received my degree in Physical Education & Sport. I am 2004 gradatue of Major League Scout School. I scouted with the Florida Marlins & Texas Rangers. Head Coach at Lawndale HS in California, 2014 & 2015.I am currently a PE teacher at Collister Elementary.
I have 3 Awesome Kiddos, Lily, Richie, & Frankie!!!

I have been married for 30 Years My Beautiful Wife Karin.
We have 3 Boys Derek, Kyle and Travis who have all been an Assistant Coach or Coordinator with me in my Coaching Career.
PLAYING EXPERIENCE: 3 years Varsity Baseball and Football Cleveland HS-Pitcher, Catcher and Utility Infielder. Pierce College- Catcher.
COACHING EXPERIENCE & PHILOSOPHY: Coach Baird is going into his 39th year of Coaching.
He has been a part of many Youth and High School Sports Programs in California, Connecticutand now Idaho. He has been Head Coach in Baseball, Football, Soccer and Basketball and have served as a Coordinator or Assistant Coach in all of those Sports and LaCrosse.
As I have a part of many coaching circles and have seen or competed against. The one thing I have always emphasized to my players was Teamwork.

Playing Experience:
Played at Middleton high school. Positions: 3rd and Pitcher. Pitched while attending Pacific University.
Coaching Experience & Philosophy:
Going into my 6th year of coaching. I have coached 3 summers for Middleton High School’s legion Single A team. Began my first Year at Boise High in 2019 as a JV assistant before being elevated to the head coach during the 2020 COVID year (perfect 5-0 that season too and deserves a trophy). Retained assistant duties in 2021 before being elevated to Head Coach for this upcoming season.
Growing up in a smaller town, hard work was always emphasized. Doing the things that others don’t want to do and doing them together is what makes you strong as a team not only on the field, but off as well. The players who can give all their effort for not only themselves, but their teammates as well, are the ones that truly succeed.

Playing Experience:
I was an Outfielder at Yucaipa High School. Won a Division 2 CIF Championship in 2018, that year we were a top 10 nationally ranked team. After graduating I attended Saddleback College to continue my academic and athletic career.
Coaching Experience & Philosophy:
This is my second year coaching at Boise High and I could not be more excited! I have had the fortune to be a part of many baseball teams who were coached by some of the best coaches in Southern California. I look forward to working with the players and not only fine tuning their baseball skills but turning them into young men. I believe that the best way to achieve greatness as a group is to buy in as a family. Once that comradery is found the sky's the limit!
