LIV Champion Crowned
The WCC LIV has now been completed, and Val-Vartej managed by iridru have been crowned World Club Cup Champions for the 1st time beating Safe Hands 7 time WCC Champions, Koodoo Rand Diamond Geezers 14 - 10 at the Uragan Arena in Romanian.
In what is probably one of the biggest upsets I have seen in my WCC Lifetime, the Romanian team had only beaten the Geezers once in 14 attempts, and had a huge CSR advantage on paper. It didn't start well for the Geezers, losing Zimbabwe International Itayi Sithole in the 2nd minute, but Iridru's team ground out an 8-0 halftime score, and continued their stranglehold in the 2nd half to end the game as Champions for the 1st time...well done to both teams for a close game.
A big well done to all the other managers who took out the trophies in the groups.....some very fine, well contested efforts

Next we have the prestigious "Iorwerth Award" which was created in honour of BR manager and WCC Founder Long term memberIorwerth, and it is awarded to the team or teams that we believe have played throughout each season's competition with the commitment, passion and spirit, that was originally intended for the WCC, when the competition idea was conceived.
This season I cannot go past iridru and the run his team Val-Vartej had in the Cup, knocking over some awesome teams to finally be crowned Champion...very well deserved trophy.
