Music Philosophy for Senior
It is my job as the band teacher to provide the best education I can for my students. There is great pride and excellence in this band program and I look forward to continuing to build on these values each and every year. Our program will work to better ourselves as people, students and musicians.
(Person First) Be the community we want to be
The band program will work to help students be the best in class and outside of the classroom. My main goal for students is to be the best person you can for your community.
We get to enjoy music making, while learning life skills through this process.
We as a band program will help each player reach their highest potential as a human.
We have a very important and prominent role in the community and it is our goal to represent Senior High at the highest level inside the classroom and in the community.
(Student Focus) Be the best representatives inside the school and achieve success in the classroom
We work hard each day in class and we do our very best to be great leaders in the school.
The music staff will encourage students to do their best while they are here at Senior High.
We have a nurturing and welcoming attitude to help others when needed and commit to being great students at Senior High.
(Musicianship) "Success is a Journey, not a destination!"
Playing at a high level is important, but it is not the only outcome of music making. Participation in the arts provides a process that is equally important.
Being a part of a musical ensemble and collaborating with fellow students each day in class will be lessons that students will take with them when they graduate.
We at Senior High take teaching musical skills to our students with the utmost care and expertise. Students at Senior High will receive the best education possible.
