Colorectal Surgery
Surgery & medical treatment for diseases of colon, rectum and anal canal. Diagnosis & treatment for common ano-rectal problems like piles, fissure, fistula and cancers of rectum & anal canal is available. Both open as well as laparoscopic colorectal surgery like hemicolectomy, low anterior resections, abdominoperineal resections are regularly performed.
Ulcerative Colitis: Panproctocolectomy with pouch anal anastomosis.
Colon Cancers: Radical right hemicolectomy, left hemicolectomy, transverse colectomy, sigmoid colectomy for cancer colon.
Cancer of rectum and cancer of anal canal: Proctocolectomies, Abdominoperenial resections, low anterior resections, colostomies in emergencies.
Sigmoid volvulus: Sigmoid colectomy
Rectal Prolapse: Rectopexy.
Multiviseral resection for right iliac fossa mass causing rectal stricture in a 42 yr female. Sigmoid colon, rectum, uterus with adenexa, and appendix were resected enbloc.
Fissure in Ano: Lateral sphincterotomy, Anal stretch.
Fistula in Ano: Laying open of fistula tract; Fistulectomy- excision of fistula tract, LIFT- ligation of intersphincteric fistula tract, seton placement etc.
