Quick Facts

A Few Quick Facts for a Fabulous School Year

in Fourth Grade

Pick up/Drop off Procedures

  • School hours: 9:10am-3:20pm
  • After 9:20am, please accompany your child into the main office to sign him or her in.
  • Thank you for getting your child to school on time. Children do much better when they start the day off together with their peers.
  • If you are picking your child up after school, please be sure to sign him or her out of the main office. Parents who pick up in the afternoons usually arrive at school between 3:10 and 3:20 in order to avoid the rush of students walking to the buses. Your child will meet you in the front foyer when his or her class is dismissed.
  • If you need to drop your child off late or pick your child up early, please send in a note for our records.

Morning Drop-Off Lane for Cars

  • If you use the drop-off lane, you must exit as soon as your child gets out of the car.
  • If you want to walk your child into school or watch your child walk into school, please park in a legal parking space.

Absences

  • If your child is going to be absent, please call the nurse at (518) 439-4929.

Family Vacations

  • School attendance is vitally important to your child’s academic and social-emotional success. Please schedule family vacations during school vacation time.
  • Teachers are not able to send work home in advance for family vacations. Thank you for understanding.

Birthdays in Our Classroom

Each classroom celebrates student birthdays differently. Here’s what will happen in our classroom this year.

  • Some families enjoy sending in a brithday treat. We have 20 students in our class. Treats must be individually wrapped or cut. Treats will be distributed during snack and can be sent in with the student or dropped off at the front office before lunch.
  • Invitations for birthday parties outside of school can only be distributed at school if the whole class is invited. Otherwise there are hurt feelings, so please do not ask us to send out invitations or thank you notes only to select children.

Special Events in our Classroom

  • When you visit school during a school day, please be sure to bring your driver’s license or other ID.
  • If you have more than one child at Glenmont School, and you are coming to school for a special event such as a picnic or learning lunch in one classroom, we kindly request that your other child(ren) remain in their own classrooms. The 5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony is the exception.
  • Preschool children and babies are welcome at all of our classroom events.

Classroom Volunteers

  • If you have a speciality that aligns with our fourth grade curriculum that you would like to share with your child’s class/ grade level , please let me know!

Gifts for Faculty and Staff

  • State law, as well as the District’s employee code of ethics, prohibit any employee from accepting gifts, in any form, that have a value in excess of $75 per family at one time or in total over the course of the school year.
