Part I
Design and program your robot to ascend and descend a set of stairs to rescue a Lego character:
· There are approximately 12 stairs: 1.75 inches high, 1.75 inches deep, and 8 inches wide
· Your robot will start about 12 inches before the first stair, move to the stairs, climb them, then descend them.
· To verify that they made it to the top, the Lego character must be dislodged from the top stair.
· The last stair will be colored black to differentiate it from others.
· The winner will be the first to save the Lego person
Once part 1 is completed, the students must modify their design to climb a standard set of stairs. We will use the set on the C hallway near the elevator for the challenge. However, any set can be used for testing.
· There are approximately 12 stairs: 7 inches high, 11 inches deep, and 8 feet wide
· Your robot will start about 12 inches before the first stair, move to the stairs, and climb them. There is no need to descend them.
· The winner will be the first to get the whole robot to the platform above the last stair.
