Dear Students,
Welcome to my Spanish Class!
As we begin the 2021-22 school year, I wanted to share some important information with all parents that will help in supporting their student in learning and reaching their academic goals in Spanish.
Language acquisition takes a tremendous amount of time, dedication and effort. Since we only meet 2 times per week, please check Canvas for details and guidelines that are helpful in obtaining the most during our time together.
First, It is important that each student comes prepared for class every day. This means having the necessary materials, and also actively participating in all class activities. Secondly, all assignments should be completed in a weekly manner to obtain the most benefit.
I am available by email for any help needed with the content. However, it is the student's responsibility to be actively engaged during class time, as well as making sure all work that is assigned is completed and corrected.
Since language skills are built over time, this is not a subject they can 'cram' for - and that is why they need to have weekly attention and weekly progress. Having this kind of consistency and focus are habits that are helpful not only in learning a language, but also a very valuable skill that your student will need later in college and/or the workplace.
Remember to check Canvas and my website for updates and announcements about the class. Learning will occur every day and student's participation is expected. Assignments for Spanish Class are expected to be turn in in a weekly manner. Visit Canvas for details or email me.
I appreciate your support in discussing the above information with your student and/ or with your parents. Thank you for helping your student be successful in learning a second language.
