We would LOVE for you to come and support our BBE Speech Team. Speech meets can be a bit confusing and chaotic to the uninitiated. If you would like to watch a speaker perform, please contact Ms. Sackreiter for the best way to do so.
Expectations:
Expectations:
Students must attend at least 7/10 meets to compete in the sub-section tournament.
Students are allowed 3 breaks from meets while still maintaining eligibility for the sub-section meet.
If a student must miss a speech meet due to a schedule conflict with another activity, the student must meet with Ms. Sackreiter at least 1 week before the missed date to discuss if it will count towards their 3 breaks.
Students must attend individual & team practices in order to compete in the weekly meet.
Non-competing students are expected to attend meets to support their team.
Plan to pack or buy lunch for meets. Concessions are usually available at each meet. If there are no concessions, we will make arrangements so that all students have something to eat during the meets. We will plan to stop somewhere for food on the way back from each meet as well.

Students may receive a letter in Speech if they meet ONE of the following:
Attend 8 of the 10 meets prior to the sub-section meet.
Place in the top 3 @ a large meet.
Place in the top 3 at least 2 times @ small meets.
