Calculators for Calculus Class

Student use of Generative AI software/platforms is not permitted on any coursework, assignments, or assessments unless explicitly outlined by the teacher.

Calculators:

TI-84 Plus Calculators will be used in class daily. Students who do not own their own will be issued one at the start of the class.  If you are purchasing a calculator, consider the TI-84 Plus Silver (color if you want an extra).  You will use it daily in math, and possibly for courses in college.  There are great apps out there that will do the trick for much less money (see below).

Also consider the TI-89 Calculator.  It is has a CAS (Computer Algebra System) which will allow it to solve equations for you.  IT IS ALLOWED ON THE AP TEST!  Caution: this calculator will not be allowed on SAT or ACT and not on most college placement tests.

Android devices: 

The Android app I used and loved has been discontinued!  If you find others, please let me know!

Desmos is a good alternative for many things.

Apple Devices: 

GraphNCalc83  This app is about $6 and emulates the TI-83 Plus Calculator.

Calculate84 This app is FREE, but has ads and allows for in-app purchases.
