Student use of Generative AI software/platforms is not permitted on any coursework/assignments/assessments unless explicitly outlined by the teacher.
This includes, but is not limited to math apps.
GMM is an online tool that individualizes practice for students. To do well in Algebra, GMM must be used daily by all students. GMM and Keystone data shows enormous growth in our students when used properly.
Other tips for parents to help students:
Have students log on to show you their progress. Lots of green and stars is great!
Lots of yellow and red mean there is improvement to be made. More practice is needed, or more good practice is needed.
Homework goals for the day are noted at the top banner. Students can show you they are "done" with their homework.
It is always good to do "extra" math! The more you do, the better you get!
Focus on the "above the dotted line" boxes, if there IS a dotted line. There should be a dotted line after the second week of school.
We are never "done" with a unit! GMM keeps giving practice to students on an individual need basis. The program "knows" what each student needs to work on most!
Points are awarded on accuracy. Students must get problems correct on the first try to get points. Sometimes this gets frustrating for students. The end outcomes are worth it though!
Does your student have their GMM spiral out? Any problems they are "stuck" on MUST be in that spiral so they can ask in class THE NEXT DAY. I won't necessarily see the problem on the computer while they are with me so it is IMPERATIVE that they bring it to class so I can help them then they can take it home with them to fix when they do see it.
