All About AHSAP

Welcome to the Atlantic Home School Assistance Program, which serves home school families in the Atlantic area. Our program's main goal is to support parents as teachers, but we also have a variety of enrichment activities, classes and field trips for the students involved.  You can find us in Room 109 at the Middle School.  We have a growing number of resources for families to check out and use.

Tina Olson serves as the director of the program.  Tina and Linda Nichols share the duties of supervising individual families, teaching enrichment classes and planning workshops and field trips.  To see more of what we have been up to, visit our blog or check out our most recent newsletter!  Information on the upcoming 2022-2023 year can be found here.

Linda has been working with homeschool families in Atlantic since 2004.  She graduated from UNI with a degree in music education and taught music for 8 years before staying home with her boys.  She also has a talented and gifted endorsement from Drake University. She and her family live on a farm south of Atlantic.  In her spare time she enjoys time with her kids and grandkids,  following Trojan wrestling, the ISU Cyclones, riding her bike and reading a good book.

Tina joined the program in 2013.   She graduated from Central College in 1993 with an elementary education degree and endorsements in social studies and reading.  She also has a talented and gifted endorsement.  The past 12 years she has enjoyed substitute teaching in Exira and Elk Horn-Kimballton, while home schooling her own children.  Every day is different and full of new adventures when you homeschool and I'm excited to be a part of the adventure with homeschool families at ACSD.
