"Walking Across Europe" Challenge Begins November 1

As part of the OEA Choice Trust grant all districts that received grants are invited to the Backpacking in Europe Fall Challenge Here are some important dates and details to help us district prepare for the challenge:

The Backpacking Europe Fall Challenge begins November 1st and will end on December 13th

Challenge Registration begins October 17th and ends November 1st

The District will provide more details to our employees on October 17.

The challenge is a competition against all other districts in the state who have received the OEA Choice Trust grant.

Final Fall Challenge Results will be sent December 16th announcing our challenge winner

Backpacking Europe is designed to be a friendly challenge among our grantees from across Oregon! The grantee with the highest percentage of participants who complete the challenge will be declared the challenge winner!

The winning district will be honored with our newly minted OEA Choice Trust trophy. There could be other perks associated with the winner of the Backpacking Europe Challenge.

Astoria School District will be using a program called Walker Tracker for staff to input their exercise mileage.

Last year the District had 5 teams involved in a exercise challenge within Clatsop County. The District had the top four teams in the challenge out of over 35 teams. This challenge will not be against each other but instead will be against other districts throughout the State of Oregon.
