HIDA (Hawaii branch of the International Dyslexia Association) offers a free Dyslexia Guide created by Dr. Kathy Ferguson, and several other helpful resources. Though not college focused, this guide is important for those with language based learning disabilities in any level of school.

Colleges that Change Lives started as a book reviewing 40 outstanding and personalized colleges, but now is an organization that promotes a holistic approach to college admission and provides information about those schools.
Many schools use The Common Applicaton, and some also have a supplement that is required when you use the common app.
The College Board is an excellent resource for all things college admission related, a clearinghouse of information about colleges, the application process, financial aid, the SAT, and more.
WICHE/ WUE allows students who are residents of Western states to receive a scholarship that discounts tuition to 150% of the regular in-state tuition rate for that institution. Each college handles this scholarship program a little differently. At some institutions, it is a highly competitive scholarship, or it is restricted by major. In others, it is given to all students coming from select states in the Western region. To search for WUE schools by major and program, use the link above.

Register for your local NACAC (National Association of College Admission Counseling) College Fair at this site. You can also preview the list of colleges that will plan to attend! Before attending a college fair, make a list of your criteria and your questions. Preview the colleges and chat with Ms. James to see if she has any schools she thinks you should learn more about.

The University of Hawaii System Web page. There is a common paper application that can be used for any of the ten campuses in the UH system. However, requirements for admission vary greatly, so visit individual school sites for more information. UH Manoa, UH West Oahu, and UH Hilo also have online applications.
