Judges

Judges

If you have an M.S. or extensive experience in the field and would like to judge, please fill out the application form or contact Dr Brian Monson at (501) 622-5242. Medical and graduate students are also invited especially if they are ASMS(A) alumni. When volunteering, please let us know which categories you would like to judge. Judging will be in-person this year on Feb 23rd from about 9:00 to 3:00.

Conflict of Interest & Ethics Policy

To avoid the appearance of conflicts of interest in the judging process and to help ensure fairness for all competitors, the WCRSF has established the following policy:

  • You should not judge a student who is a family friend or relative.

  • You should not judge a student who worked with you in a research mentorship capacity or who worked with a colleague in your lab. You may judge students who worked at your institution if they worked outside your research group.

  • You should not judge a student who you have already judged at a science fair this year. You can still volunteer if you judged a local fair, however, it will have to be for a different category.

  • You agree to notify the fair director if you find yourself in conflict with these policies when categories are assigned.

  • You agree to respect the intellectual property of the students and their mentors.

If you find yourself with a conflict, let us know and we will move you to a different category.
