I am thrilled to be teaching students in a variety of grades at Ashford School! The Special Education program provides me the chance to work with students of differing ages and skills, and I love it!
In 2016 I was awarded a Fund For Teachers Fellowship grant! This gave me a chance to visit Iceland and learn about geology and Earth Science. You can see some photos and read my blog at the following link:

I am also happy to state that in Fall of 2017 I became a National Geographic Certified Educator.
This is a designation that i achieved after completing a multiphase process designed to recognize educators who are encouraging students to be global thinkers, explorers, and conservationists.
Even more exciting is I am a 2018 National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow!! This designation was awarded after a competitive application process. It provides me with an exciting opportunity to go on an expedition with National Geographic Education and Lindblad Expedtions!! You can learn about the National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship program at this link: National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellows
For this Fellowship, I will be traveling to the Galapagos from November 30-December 10! This will be an exciting event, providing me with information to share with my students and the school.
Teaching is a second career for me, after first having a career in the corporate world, and then I spent some time with my family.
I have a Master of Science in Special Education, which I earned from Southern Connecticut State University.
From my life prior to teaching, I have a Master's Degree in Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, both from the University of Connecticut.
Kids are wonderful and their energy is what keeps me going!
