I grew up in Washington and moved to Alaska in 2011 and was instantly hooked. My husband (Aquarian K/1 Teacher Mr. Paul) and I love the adventure opportunities and the extended family we have in Alaska. During the winter we love to ski, whether it’s XC or downhill. We consume our summers fishing in Prince William Sound and the Kenai. We have 3 children, Leah (8), Sarah (7), and Johnny (4).
I am highly qualified in Elementary Education and Reading and have my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
In our classroom, your child will engage in a rigorous and challenging environment. They will have to work collaboratively with their peers to find creative solutions. Children will also be exposed to a variety of experiences and locations outside of the classroom to broaden their understanding of the outside world. Rather than delivering information, I believe my role is to guide and facilitate children as they interact with their learning in a hands on and meaningful way. Woven into this collaborative academic environment are social skills to ensure that your child becomes a well-rounded and empathetic citizen.
