Imereti Region Scientific-Information Association of Youth “ASA”

Imereti Region Scientific-Information Association of Youth “ASA” was founded in Kutaisi by the young specialists in 1994 for supporting the democratic reforms. Because of the changes in the legislation the organization is registered twice (By the Ministry of Justice and the city Court).In 05.01.1999 the organization is registered by the Kutaisi Court, registration # 12/10-28. The legal address of the organization is 71 Tsereteli str., Kutaisi.

The Organization Mission: Imereti Region Scientific-Information Association of Youth “ASA” is the union of the citizens, supporting the democratic reforms for the assimilation of existing recourses in the Region. We create the information-consulting center for the three sectors of the society using the electric communications, work in ecology. In total the organization had implemented 43small and big projects, by means of different financial sources such as: order, service, self-funding, technical assistance, grants and partner projects, donation and other.

The most remarkable implemented projects are:

  • Assessment of the Potentials of Imereti Small Rivers and Water full Sources (1995);

  • Construction of the Mini Hydro Power Station in the Village Brolisketi (Funded by the Business sector) ( 1996);

  • The Partnership Participation in the Rehabilitation of the Helyo-Heating Complex in Khoni Psychiatric Hospital (funded by the Red Cross Organization) (1997);

  • Monitoring of the Wind Energy NRG-SYSTEM (in the partnership with ENECO) (1998-2000);

  • Assessment of the NGOs operating in Kutaisi and creation of the NGO Catalog. (Fund “Horisonti”) (1998-2004);

  • Creation of the Regional Information System about the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. (WWF, 1996);

  • The Support Centre for Development of Kutaisi NGOs (OSGF, 1999-2000);

  • Kutaisi Energy Problems (Friedrich Ebert Fund, 2011);

  • Energy and Kutaisi Society (USAID, OSG, 2011);

  • Creation of the Information-Discussing Centre for Tkibuli Society (РЕЦ-Кавказа, 2011-2012);

  • The Natural Disasters in Imereti Region (IATP/IREX, 2012-2013);

  • Civil Society Engagement in Kutaisi Local Self-Government and Public Utilities (Friedrich Ebert Fund, 2014-2015);

  • The Neighboring Policy of the Euro Union (Friedrich Ebert Fund, 2014-2015);

  • Eco Migrants, Government and Us (World Bank, 2015-2016);

  • The Problem that Worries All of Us (РЕЦ-Кавказа, 2016-2017);
