Logging in for the first time
Your username and password log you into everything in PPS: the computer, Synergy, school email, and school Google account and Google Classroom.
To log in to a school computer, use just your username. (Don't include the @domain part.)
Your USERNAME is a combination of:
- your first initial,
- your last name (up to a certain limit - tell me if yours isn’t working),
- and the last 4 numbers of your student ID.
EX: jdoe####
Your initial PASSWORD is:
- Pps -- note the capital P!
- followed by your entire 6-digit student ID #
EX: Pps######
Managing your password
changing your password
IT requires that you change your password from the default password. Make a plan for how you will memorize your password. Text it to yourself or make a note of it if you need to!
Go to:
Enter your username (EX: jdoe####) and the CAPTCHA letters.
Select Change Password and change your password according to the requirements below.
Password requirements:
- 8 characters or longer
- contains at least 3 different types of characters (uppercase, lowercase, number, symbol)
- does NOT contain your username
secret questions
If you have never created secret questions or if you want to update your questions, choose Register with Password Manager or My Questions and Answers Profile and set up your questions. Make sure you will be able to answer your secret questions later!
forgot password
If you forget your password, select Forgot/Expired Password and answer the challenge questions, then reset your password as above.
Logging in to email
New this year! Go to:
email.pps.net
Log in using your PPS username plus the domain @student.pps.net, and your password.
EX: jdoe####@student.pps.net)
Logging in to Google Chrome
Open Chrome (you can find it on the desktop or in the Windows menu).
In the upper right hand corner, click the little person torso and then Sign in to Chrome.
Your email is your username@student.pps.net, and your password is the same one you use to log in to the computer.
EX: jdoe####@student.pps.net
Make sure you Sync data when it asks; this allows you to save bookmarks to your account so that they follow you when you change computers.
