ENGLISH 9

English 1/2 is designed to introduce incoming freshmen to literacy at the high school level. We will use thinking, reading, writing, & speaking & listening to explore a range of literary genres. The concepts of identity and heroism/the hero’s & heroine’s journey will be our central lenses for reading texts from various cultures. Exploring powerful uses of written and spoken language and developing our own personal methods for using language efficiently and effectively to share our voices and perspectives and communicate our ideas will be a central goal.
