Students in Kindergarten-5th grade will have lessons once a week. Students will receive instruction aligned to Oregon and national school library standards in research, information literacy, digital literacy, and media literacy. Students will learn how to choose appropriate reading materials. A love for books and reading is created through reading aloud, book displays, book talks, and author studies at all grade levels.
Check-out Policies:
K and 1st grade: 1 book (Kindergarten will be checking out starting in October)
2nd grade: 2 Books
3rd through 5th grades: 3 books
All books are checked out for two weeks at a time.
Damaged and Lost Book Policy:
Students are responsible for all books checked out from our library. Accidents happen! If a book is accidentally damaged, the student should report the damage so that the book may be repaired, if possible. If a book page tears, please do not attempt to repair the book at home. A special book tape is used that resists heat and will not discolor. If a book is lost, or damaged beyond use, the student will be expected to pay for the book so that it may be replaced in the library.
