December 26 - 29, 2024 Ironwood, MI & Hurley, WI
Camp Cost ~$250 40 Spots Available
Perhaps the most exciting feature of the ski season is our annual holiday ski camp. It provides an excellent opportunity for athletes to get some invaluable time on skis before the bulk of the racing season gets underway. At camp, skiers can expect to get several hours per day to work on ski technique (always important) as well as ski fitness and team bonding. It easily is one of the best parts of the high school ski season and the trail systems we visit during camp boast some of the best snow conditions in the Midwest.
Ski Trails
This year’s annual holiday training trip will take place in Ironwood, MI at the famous ABR Trails system. During a good snow year, the trail system has 101 kilometers (63 miles) of trails open for us by mid-December. Groomed skate decks with classic tracks, as well as many groomed kilometers of single track (classic only) trails, take you through dense woods, along rivers and streams, and along beautiful bluffs and hillsides.
Accommodations and Meals
Camp lodging will be at the Haven North Condominiums in Hurley, WI. Only a 15 minute drive from camp, our bus service will drop us off at the trails every morning and pick us up mid-afternoon to bring us back to the cabins. RAHS typically reserves five units in total for the camp: five cabins with accommodations to hold 7-9 attendees. Each cabin has a fully-equipped kitchen and all meal prep will be done by each cabin for their own residents. Meal planning will be determined by RAHS coaches and captain families (and anyone else who is willing to assist, we welcome new ideas!). We will also have snacks that athletes can bring along on long ski sessions.
