Confidentiality

When a student talks to the school counselor, what he/she talks about stays between the two of them UNLESS:

  1. The student indicates they are or are going to hurt themselves.

  2. The student indicates someone is/has hurting them.

  3. The student indicates they are going to hurt someone else.

  4. The student agrees to work with the counselor to disclose specific information to others.

By law, during instances stated above, the school counselor MUST do what is deemed to be in the best interest of the student's safety.
