The Career Pathway is a structured sequence of courses, work experiences, and related learning opportunities designed to develop skills and knowledge that will introduce you to a career in education, manufacturing, health sciences/nursing, and agriculture. In addition, some students can earn an endorsement on their transcript if they complete the following requirements:
Career Exploration (completed during Freshmen and Sophomore Year in Century 21st Ready and Resource Management classes)
Financial Literary exploration
Career Assessment/Interest Inventory
2 career exploration activities
Dual Credit
6 hours of post-secondary credit through Sauk Valley Community College (dual-credit)
Team Based Challenges
Participate in 2 team-based challenges
60 Hour Supervised Experience
Complete 60 hours of supervised work experience
Individualized Learning Plan
Complete and individualized learning plan
Demonstrate Academic Readiness
Meet College and Career Readiness standards in Math and English/Language Arts through one of the following:
Math- Dual Credit Math course through Sauk Valley Community College, Transitional Math Grade of a C or higher, Algebra 2 Grade of C or higher, ACT Score of 22 and a Math class senior year
ELA- Sauk Valley Community College Eng 101 Grade of a C or higher, Transitional English Grade of C or higher, ACT scores of English: 18 and Reading: 22

If you are interested in pursuing the Education Pathway, please speak with Mr. Kolton, Ms. Spinelli, Ms. Hemmen or Ms. Crownhart prior to junior year of high school. If interested in pursuing the Health Science, Manufacturing, or Agriculture Pathway please speak to Mr. Kolton, Ms. Spinelli, or Ms. Crownhart prior to junior year of high school. Students can participate in the pathway without meeting the college and career readiness standards required for the endorsement.
