About Mr. Kolton

I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. After working as a substitute teacher for a few years and working in the private sector I went back to school and earned my Masters degree in School Counseling from Concordia University-Chicago 2011.

I worked as a resident counselor for 5-years at the Illinois Math and Science Academy in Aurora, IL. Besides being a resident counselor I was also the Head Scholastic Bowl coach and was an advisor for two clubs. After this experience, I moved on to Ingersoll Middle School in Canton, IL and was a school counselor there for the last two years.

I am looking forward to working with and supporting the Amboy High School students as they progress through their high school careers.

A little bit about me…… I have two other brothers, one works at Sentry Insurance lives in Wisconsin and my other is an engineering technician for Walker Parking Consultants and lives in Mchenry County, IL.

My dad is a retired teacher and my mom is a retired occupational therapist and lives in McHenry County, IL.

I am originally from Wisconsin and I am a big Packers, Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers fan. In my free time I enjoy going to movies, watching history documentaries, and going to sporting events. I also enjoy watching sports on tv, especially college basketball (go Jayhawks!!!!). I hope to eventually see a game at every MLB baseball park as well. I have been to eight so far.
