Bell Work: Determine when the author of your book lived and wrote. How does the time period in which the author lived and wrote affect the action of the book?

Objective: Students will complete Dialectical Journal #5, demonstrating cumulative analysis of theme, voice, and global significance.
Bell Work: What is the point of view of your book? How do you know? How would the text be different if it were written in a different point of view?

Objective: Students will participate in a final book club meeting, using evidence trackers to collaboratively analyze and articulate central themes.
Bell Work: If you had to describe your book as a symbol, what symbol would you choose? Why would you make this choice?
Agenda: Final Book Club Meeting: Finish evidence trackers/ analyze theme/ go over discussion questions.
Objective: Students will finalize, organize, and submit all remaining unit assignments — including the Evidence Tracker, Book Club Packet, and any outstanding work — to demonstrate completion of unit expectations and accountability for learning.
Bell Work: In 4–6 sentences, respond thoughtfully to the Essential Question: How do I find my voice in a global conversation?
In your response, consider:
How your thinking about this question has changed during the unit
A specific text, discussion, or activity that influenced your perspective
What you now believe is most important when sharing your voice with a broader audience
Agenda: Finish up and turn in Evidence Tracker, Book Club Packets, and any other unit work that has not been submitted to this point.
