This period investigates westward migration and expansion, growth and development of American democracy, and the accompanying economic, territorial, demographic, and cultural changes. We will examine the impact of the Marshall Court rulings, determine the causes and impact of the market revolution, and reasons for pro-slavery arguments, anti-immigrant sentiments, and restrictive anti-Indian policies of the Era.
