1754-1800
Period 3 focuses on the tightening imperial control of the British on the colonists through new laws and restrictive measures, colonial reactions to the restrictions, and British reaction to the colonial response, which results in war and the birth of a new nation. We will examine how the Seven Year's War led to the American Revolution, how the Declaration of Independence reflected the colonist's belief in a republican self-government, and how the limits of the Articles of Confederation led to the writing and ratification of the Constitution.
