On a perfect day in the Pyrenees, this bunch of ACTVets rode up the Col de Tourmalet (17 kilometres, up to 2100 metres with the last five kms at 10% gradient - in the big chain ring and with one leg!) But we have had 2 weeks of alpine training preceding this - 1,000 kilometres and 20,000 metres of uphill - and all in perfect weather, lots of great food and plenty of beers.
Al Bontjer, John Armstrong, Bob Hooton (former Vet), Baden White, Alex O'Shea, Richard Gorrell, Gordon Hollond, Mark Putter (Les Deux Velos lodge host), Peter Southgate, Robert Langridge and Mark Taylor.

One of our visually impaired members, Peter Grandleese is training to get back into racing and for the Hartley challenge. In addition to tandem riding, he needs to train regularly at home on a wind trainer. Peter has bought his own tandem but it is too long to be stable on the wind trainer. He is looking for an inexpensive second hand bike. If someone has an old bike they are happy to part with, please call Peter on 0415961696.
