• • Students are challenged to solve a real world situation

  • Ergonomics and the important aspects in their design that will be required to grab different items comfortably.

  • The engineering design process and have the students follow each step in the design of their product.

Monster Truck Challenge: Transportation

• • Students build their own truck from scratch

  • Learn about propulsion, suspension, guidance, control, support, and the structural aspects of transportation.

  • Students test drive their truck on a test track.

“Dream House” Architecture “SketchUp” Project: Construction

• • Using a basic CAD program have the students design their “Dream House”

  • The students will learn the basics of construction, the key parts of a house

  • Building codes: discuss zoning and why it exists, and the different materials that can be used in the construction of a house.

  • Different forces that act on a house, with emphasis on tension and compression on the different members.
