Word Families

Word families are groups of letters that stick together. 1 word family can make lots of different words just by changing the first letter or two. Watch the videos to learn about the word families you will see the most when you read.

Greek and Latin Roots

Greek and Latin roots make up a large portion of the new vocabulary words that students will encounter in the upper grades, especially in math and science. Latin roots make up a large number of Spanish/English cognates.
