The sun kissed our faces

Oh how I wanted to kiss hers too

Her sweet rose cheeks

Her golden wheat hair

Forbidden from me

A plague of my heart

I wanted to cry

To say I love you

How precious you are

But if I dared utter

The intent could never be

The romance I longed

Simply platonic intimacy

So stuck lying here

Enveloped in posy

The wind through her hair

Fed the flame

Our fingers intertwined

And the ashes began to fall

Silver in our veins

We whisk through the trees

We dance across the plains

We sing with the breeze

We wander with the ancient

The forgotten and the free

We play with the wild

We waltz with the sea

The world may forget

Centuries to be 

But none will be gone

Our oblivious beauty

Peer through the veil

Lured, cometh thee

We will take you home

Loving eternally

Brisk water rushing

Sand pelted against skin

The wave tried to take me

Cold and serene

Where fear should have lied

Only peace washed over me

Gripping a rock I stayed

My life attached to it

I could have died

But I felt more alive than anything
