Forecasting Basics
During forecasting, students make course choices (also called course requests).
Sheldon uses student requests to create the Master Schedule of all classes offered. Therefore, students must accurately choose courses and commit to them.
To simplify the process for incoming Grade 9 students, we have preloaded most core classes (Math, Science, English, Global Studies).
We can make adjustments as needed to preloaded classes.
Do do this, we use placement data, teacher recommendations, and the number of courses being offered.
Students are not guaranteed their first choice for some classes.
4J School District requires that all 9th grade students are enrolled in a full schedule (no free periods).
