Everyday this year I am writing my favorite part or thing from each day in a journal. It helps me be grateful for all the little moments that are often overlooked. It's important not to think that something spectacular has to happen for it to be a good day because most days that won't happen.
So rather than wasting today hoping that tomorrow something amazing will happen, I tell myself that today something made me happy. That something didn't suck. That even if it wasn't a good day there was something good about it and even if it felt like every other day there was still something that made me laugh.
Whenever I'm having a hard time, I can flip through the pages and see that one day I took a nap and another I went ice skating. There was a day I went to Disneyland and another I got pizza for lunch. And even if some day I were to win the lottery it wouldn't matter in this journal. Because every single thing in it made me happy.
