- caption with a correct MLA in-text citation, for instance:
  - Prince Charming was clearly having second thoughts when he looked at Snow White and said, "What sort of an idiot bites an apple from a complete stranger?"(194).
- look at your orange sheet to remember the rules
  - signal phrase (leads into the words from the book)
  - "words directly from the book in quotation marks"
  - (Number ONLY of the page the words came from, in parentheses)
  - Period to end the whole big sentence.

- turn in to warm-up box

Socratic Seminar
- why do we do this?
- how do we do this?
- why do we need the book?
First, on a sheet of notebook paper
- write three higher level questions.
  - not factual questions that can be answered in the plot
  - questions about why things happened
  - questions about how the book ties to the world outside the book
- Consider:
  - the author's purpose
  - the characters' dreams (and what happens to them)
  - loneliness for each character
  - questions in the plot you're not sure about
  - whether these things happen today
- Take lots of notes!

Make posters about a character
- Include:

  - picture of something about the character
  - Textual evidence in MLA in-text citation format:
    - evidence that shows the character's dream
    - evidence that shows the character's loneliness
