I will bring an aggressive, data-driven strategy to identify, secure, and manage grants that fund our future without reaching deeper into your pockets.
An Operations-Minded Approach to Funding: Drawing on my background as a multi-unit operations leader who relies on complex data analysis to manage 16 locations, I will push for a highly organized, systematic approach to tracking grant opportunities. We need to treat grant acquisition like a business operation, targeting funds with precision and meeting every deadline.
Funding the "Infrastructure-First" Mandate: We must ensure that any future developers pay their fair share for infrastructure improvements. However, for the foundational upgrades needed in areas like our East Hickman Planned Growth Area, we must aggressively target infrastructure grants. Securing outside funding for water, roads, and telecommunications ensures we are prepared for the future without leaving Hickman County taxpayers scrambling to foot the bill.
Protecting the Local Taxpayer: Every dollar we secure from a state or federal grant is a dollar we do not have to ask for from you. By competing fiercely for external funding, we can finance our county's modernization and relieve the tax burden on individual property owners, farmers, and small businesses in District 7. We must leverage outside capital so that we don't have to constantly look to residential property tax hikes to fund the county.
Dedicated Grant Management & Compliance: Winning the grant is only half the battle. We need leadership that understands how to manage complex operations to ensure we remain in strict compliance with grant requirements. I will champion proactive management to guarantee every cent is spent effectively and transparently, proving to both grantors and our taxpayers that Hickman County is a responsible steward of external funds.
