Varios estudiantes de Español AP y pre-AP de las clases de la Señora Lorenzo y de la Señora Geoninatti participaron junto con estudiantes de otras escuelas de Long Island en el annual concurso de ensayo y de poesía.
Lily De Bei, Ava Perrotta, and Shirley Xiong fueron seleccionadas como ganadoras en la categoría de Poesía (AP / IB / College Spanish).

Eighth-grade student Brayden Rosser from Murphy Junior High School received the prestigious Mario Mignone Award for Excellence in Italian. This distinguished award recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication, and enthusiasm in the study of the Italian language and culture.Selected for HIS academic excellence, strong work ethic, and genuine passion for learning Italian, Brayden HAS demonstrated an exceptional commitment to HIS language studies throughout the school year. The World Language Department at Ward Melville organized their annual Dessert Contest! As students and staff wandered past, they were greeted by the irresistible aroma of French, ITALiAn and spanish patisseries-turning an ordinary school day into a delicious cultural escape.
French and Italian students today honored an old tradition! In Italy and France, students take April Fools’ Day to a whole new level with a playful and time-honored tradition—attaching paper fish to unsuspecting classmates’ backs!
Laughter fills classrooms and school hallways as students craft colorful paper fish, carefully planning their pranks. The challenge? To secretly stick the fish onto someone’s back without them noticing until someone finally exclaims, “Poisson d’Avril!” in France or “Pesce d’Aprile!” in Italy.
RC Murphy welcomed Gelinas 8th grade students in a joint event that brought the vibrant spirit of Spain to life, celebrating its most flavorful dances. This production featured a series of captivating performances, accompanied by insights into the history and cultural significance of these dances.
NJHS members, World Language Club participants, and ENL students came together for a lively multicultural Kahoot game. The event featured prizes and snacks, with the game designed in multiple languages to highlight the value of learning different languages. It was an exciting and engaging evening for all!
Students in the World Language Club at Murphy Junior High enjoyed a lively cultural experience. They decorated cookies inspired by international flags, combining creativity with a celebration of global diversity. The activity was accompanied by international music, creating a festive and immersive atmosphere that brought the world closer to them!

Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from September 15th to October 15th, is a time to recognize and honor the rich cultural contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities to the fabric of our society. It’s a celebration of vibrant music, art and cuisine that highlights both historical legacies and contemporary innovations. During this time, Three Village students and faculty acknowledged the resilience and creativity that have shaped the world and grow in appreciation of the profound impact the Hispanic community has had on global and local culture.

In an effort to support 6th graders transitioning to the junior high, the ninth grade Italian students from Murphy created bilingual books about emotions using Book Creator and shared them via Google Meet with elementary students. The team effort for this project included 2 classes of incredible students, Signora Casadei Berwind (Italian Teacher), Jeanine Lombardo & Gina Varacchi (Technology Coaches) and Jason Hugues & Caroline Costanza (6th grade teachers)
