The NY State Office of Early Learning has prepared informational documents with helpful questions and answers to the most commonly asked topics about Prekindergarten eligibility- please visit the NYSED Early Learning website for links to these documents in English or translated into multiple languages.
The 25-26 Pre-K lottery has closed on March 5; waitlist applications are open! Those interested in the Pre-K waitlist will follow these instructions to access and submit the waitlist application: How to Submit the Pre-K Waitlist Application
All Pre-K applicants must be registered in the district with a Student ID# in order to be considered in lottery or called off the waitlist. You can register your household and child as a student in the district at any time during the year to prepare for the Pre-K lottery application period. Links & information to register can be found on the Student Registration page of the district website.
*Please note: Registration as a Three Village District family is separate from the Pre-K Program application. You may register a family/child at any time but Registration does not guarantee you a spot in that program.
All applicants will be notified of acceptance or waitlist status on March 18, 2025 via email. This email will also contain next steps on securing enrollment in the Pre-K program. Please see the 25-26 Pre-K timeline for further information.
If the number of applications submitted exceed the number of available seats, then a lottery will be held to select students for enrollment at that school. Any student not selected in the home school lottery will be offered a spot in another Three Village district school, if available. The first-year eligible Pre-K applicants are given priority over the Kindergarten-eligible applicants in the lottery process. Lottery application date, as long as it is between 2/5 - 3/5, is not a factor in the lottery process.
Online Registration Applications are reviewed by the Registrar’s Office in the order they are received.
If you have already received your registration confirmation email from the Registrar (which contains a Student ID# for your child, etc.) then you will proceed with creating a Parent Portal account - instructions should be sent in an email at the same time as the registration confirmation email.
If you have not yet received your registration confirmation email, please allow at least one week between requesting registration and the ability to submit your Pre-K application. Once the Registrar is able to process your application and you receive your child’s Student ID#, please allow up to 2 school days after you create your Parent Portal for the application link to be available.

Registration as a Three Village District family/student is separate from the Pre-K program application. You may register a family/child at any time but Registration does not guarantee you a spot in that program.
The registration application, once processed by the Registrar's office, adds your child into the Three Village Central School District and generates a Student ID# which stays with your child throughout their time in the district. When applying, you will be asked to upload documents such as birth certificate, immunizations, proof of residency, etc. For more information please visit the Student Registration page of the district website.
The Pre-K lottery application adds your child into the lottery pool for the upcoming year's Pre-K program. When applying, you will be asked to submit a form indicating your first-choice preferences as well as backup options if your primary choice is not available.
