He'eia Fish ponds

Wow! We had an amazing experience visiting the He'eia fishponds! We explored the 800 year old fishponds and the 88 acre reserve. The students had fun using their "kilo" to observe water trends, movement, fish, the lovely octopus, and even a porcupine pufferfish and sea horse! We started our morning with a welcoming chant and ended with a Mahalo to the land, people and those who continue to take care of the 'aina. We accomplished the great task of loading and moving 66 buckets of rock to help rebuild the wall. We love taking care of our land we call home.
