We understand how challenging it is to juggle graduate school, home and other commitments. Due to the demand for support in the following core courses- finance (MGMT 543), accounting (MGMT 501), data analysis (MGMT 593), and economics (MGMT 540), we have partnered with Wyzant, to offer you up to 20 hours of free, 1-to-1 online professional tutoring.
How to Sign Up for Wyzant Tutoring
Step 1: Activate Your Wyzant Account
• Use Google Chrome for a better experience with the platform.
• Click or copy/paste this URL into your browser: https://highered.wyzant.com/signup/rice-student
• Fill out the form and set up your password. Make sure you use your @rice.edu email.
• You will receive a message indicating that your request was posted. You can now proceed with Step 2.
Step 2: Request a Tutor
• Click or copy/paste this URL into your browser: https://www.wyzant.com/login?ReturnUrl=/highered/signup/rice-student
• Use your @rice.edu as a username and the password you set up in step 1.
• Choose the subject needing support (select from the four core subjects: finance, accounting, data analysis, and economics).
• Describe the topic in the box and click on ACCEPT AND POST MY REQUEST.
Step 3: Search & Select a Tutor
• Click on Dashboard (disregard the “Your Request Was Posted” message).
• Search for a tutor by subject area (e.g., “ACCT Core Accounting Courses”).
• Select the tutor of your preference based on tutor bios, availability, and ratings.
Step 4: Request a Session
• Click on “Contact [TUTOR NAME]”
• Send a message to the Tutor.
• Select the day and time for your session.
• Request a session at least 12 hours in advance (shorter notice is allowed but not guaranteed).

Important Guidelines
• Rice Business provides you with 20 total hours of tutoring for the supported core quantitative courses listed above (finance, accounting, data analysis, and economics).
• Canceling a session without proper notice costs 30 minutes of your allotted tutoring time.
• Time is in five-minute increments, monitored by both Wyzant and Rice.
• Tutors are vetted by Wyzant, in terms of skillset and quality.
• Faculty reserves the right to place additional conditions on a tutoring session.
• Tutoring is to provide guidance and reinforce curricular concepts, and not to help with any graded assignments.
• All activities must comply with the Rice Honor Code and Wyzant’s academic integrity policies.
