Migrating Videos from Soapbox to Panopto

NOTE: This is only for faculty who previously used Wistia and Soapbox to record course content. We recommend all faculty use Panopto when developing video content. Any other videos you have uploaded to Wistia can be downloaded directly through Wistia. In order to download Soapbox videos that you have recorded, you will need to have certain special features enabled on your Soapbox account.

Step 1: Log in to Soapbox and Select a Video for Download

Sign into Soapbox using the email address you’ve used for any previous work in the 2UOS Essential Soapbox and Wistia accounts. You’ll be taken to a page showing all of the videos you’ve recorded using Soapbox.

Click on the video you wish to download. At the top of the page, click the "Share" button.

Step 2: Download the Video

In the right menu area, click “Download”.

NOTE - If you see the below blue “UPGRADE” button, please do not pay to upgrade your account -- 2U will upgrade your account on your behalf. If your account has not yet been upgraded and you would like to download your Soapbox recordings, please contact your assigned Course Advisor.

You’ll be prompted to “Create a Downloadable Copy” -- select this option. Once you’ve begun the process of creating a downloadable copy, you can safely navigate away from the page. You can also queue up multiple videos at at time if you wish. After the process has completed, an email notification will be sent along with a link to download the video.

Step 3: Repeat as Needed

To return to your recorded videos and repeat the process, click on the Soapbox logo at the top left of the menu bar.
