Band Boosters

Who We Are

Parents and guardians of band students enrolled in the Westmont Junior High School and Westmont High School Bands are automatically members of the Westmont High School Band Boosters of CUSD 201.

You'll often find us supporting our students at a football or basketball game, at a parade or concert. There's a lot of work we do behind the scenes too!

We do not have membership dues. We encourage active participation. Even if your time is limited, there are numerous ways in which you can help make the CUSD 201 Band Program better.

Share Your Talents

There are plenty of projects for everyone who wants to be involved. The more involved you are, the more you experience the benefits that your student enjoys as part of the band. Don’t wait to be asked: volunteer where you see you are needed. If you want to be involved but don’t see a job to be done, ask for ideas, there are plenty to go around.

Share What We Do

We raise monies to fund expenses beyond what the school budget supports, such as instrument repairs and replacement, transportation to clinics and band festivals, and potentially new marching uniforms. We realize students may already be selling candy, cookies/dough or magazines for other organizations so we have alternative opportunities to invite the community to support the band program, such as Flockings, the Annual Craft Show and performances by the Jazz Ensemble at area restaurants.

Attend Monthly Meetings

Band Boosters meet monthly, typically on or about the last Monday of the month at 7pm. Agendas and past minutes are available on the Documents page.

These meetings are a good opportunity to learn about upcoming band events, ie. what is expected from students and parents, as well as planning for any fundraising events. We are always seeking new ways to raise funds for the program.

Follow our public Facebook Page. We will share public band event information there that you can invite your friends and extended family to.

WHS Band families are also invited to be a part of our private Facebook Group*. This is where we'll post information specific to the band families and you can also post your own questions to the group. *Please note this is a closed Facebook Group intended only for parents/guardians and members of the Band.

  • All general questions about the band program and curriculum should be directed to the Band Director.

  • Have questions about one of our fundraising events, want to get more involved or just want another parent's perspective? Our Executive Board Members can be reached via email.

  • If you require reimbursement or payment for an authorized expense, please complete the Check Request/Reimbursement Form on our Documents Page so our Treasurer can properly process the expense.
