Q&A

Q : When did you start drawing ?

A : I started drawing the moment I could hold pencils, so I imagine something around 3-4 years old (from what I was told). I have always drawn and while I have taught myself to draw over the years, I am always trying to improve.

Q : When did you start drawing Digital ?

A : My Digital works must have started around the year 2011, or at least my interest for it. I had no idea it existed before then and I was lucky that my teachers in high-school could lend me their tablet so that I could test it out at home. This is what brought me to purchase my first tablet and start my path in digital art.

Q : What do you want to do with your art, or what do you want to become (Goals and all)?

A : When I was a kid, I wanted to work for gaming companies, initially for Bandai specifically because of my love for Digimon (That's where it all started). The list of companies I wanted to work for kept growing with the years as I wanted to bring characters to life. In my time spent in college, I've learned that after going in a 3D degree I really loved and preferred the artistic side of 3D animation and games. For long years, I have been contemplating to become an illustration or concept artist and still today I keep drawing for people in the meantime while I prepare to return to university again. I enjoy drawing for others and if I could make a living out of it, that would be my dream today. I would also love to eventually bring to life pixel game ideas that have been floating around in my mind, if time and money will permit it for me. Working in the gaming industry is definitely still a big desire in my life too as I love games and I love to get inspired from them. All my aspirations revolve around the games, sculpting in 3D and drawings/paintings. <3

Q : What art Tools do you use ?

A : I use Photoshop CC and Paint Tool SAI 2. Occasionally, Procreate and CSP.

Along with a medium sized Wacom Intuos 5 Pro trablet (For 10 years+ though, I had a Large Wacom Intuos 4)

Q : Do you recommend the tools you use, to others ?

A : Yes. For the wacom tablet however, I would highly suggest buying a medium instead of a Large (no matter the type you are getting), as it takes a lot of place and becomes rather uncomfortable on a desk with Larger tablets (unless you have a proper setup, which I don't). It's also harder to carry around. For me, a medium is my #1 choice at all times now (I don't use tablets that have screens for the time being, save for when I use procreate).

Q : Are we allowed to draw your OCs (original characters) as gift art?

A: Of course! I love getting art of my original characters and I always appreciate fanart of them. However, if you do, please draw them appropriately(sfw unless I explicitly expect nsfw from you) and credit me, always. I don't want to receive artworks of my characters which I find disturbing or uncomfortable, the likes being heavy on nsfw or having them interacting in ways that don't fit with their lore/personality. I love my characters deeply, so please respect them and remember to credit me as their owner!

Q : How do you price your commissions ?

A: I often compare the time it takes for me to complete the piece with close to minimum wage and then I give a flat rate price to my works and fluctuate around that. If pieces grow in the future and become more difficult, or easier for me to get done within the time frame I give myself or become more or less complex than what it started as, then I change my prices accordingly to what I feel it is worth it for me to do. Note that I don't change my prices in the middle of making/taking/completing commissions though, so you don't need to ever worry about that. My prices are set to try and be sustainable for the amount of time I spend on them.
