The curriculum at Warren Co ATC offers courses that are the foundation for various fields of health services.  The health services program will prepare the student to pursue a career pathway in Medicaid Nursing Assistant (also known as CNA), Phlebotomy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician.  Students will have the opportunity to obtain industry certifications in all of the above mentioned programs after course completion.  Health Science does have an application process and associated fees, see below

Students have the opportunity to earn a MNA, Phlebotomy, or Pharmacy Technician  certification.  There is an application process for the  Phlebotomy and Pharmacy Tech programs, please click on the certification of choice to obtain an application.  Students will also become CPR and First Aid certified through the American Heart Association.  

Students are members of HOSA,  which provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for  students enrolled in health science education and biomedical science programs or have interests in pursuing careers in health professions.  




Courses: 

Students earn one credit per course, each course is one quarter in length

Introduction to Health Principles:   Explores health career options, history of health care, ethical and legal responsibilities, leadership development, safety concepts, health care systems and processes, and basic health care industry skills. 

Medical Terminology/Emergency Procedure:  Potential Emergency situation, including CPR and First Aid certification.  Medical terminology includes root words, prefixes, and suffixes of many medical terms.

Basic Structures and Functions (Anatomy): Provides knowledge of the structure and function of the human body with an emphasis on normalcy. The interactions of all body systems in maintaining homeostasis will promote basic human needs.
