ABOUT MS.L

Hello there!

My name is Stephanie Langlois and I am a Settler teacher who lives, works, plays, and learns on the unceded territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples. I was originally born in Burnaby and have lived in Vancouver for most of my life.

I am a scientist who majored in Botany (Plant Science) during my BSc degree at UBC. I've studied almost all fields of Science, but my specific area of focus in university was a group of Plants called Bryophytes. (Google it - it's moss-some!). I also have my Bachelor of Education from SFU and my Master's in Educational Leadership from VIU.

I've loved helping others understand the world in new ways for as long as I can remember - I think my "teacher" genes kicked in as a kid when helping my little brother with his homework, and they've been raring to go ever since! I've been teaching science, math, psychology, careers, and other courses since 2011.

I LOVE science & math, especially the parts that are gross, weird, and mysterious! One of my main goals as a teacher is to make you curious about the world around you...because, well, our universe is a pretty strange place.
