Community Outreach

VEX Mentoring

For 3487 Red Pride Robotics, outreach is very important. We want to facilitate a love for all things robotics young in Plainfield, so we help mentor the VEX robotics teams from all of our elementary and middle schools. Members of the high school team provide support for these programs by aiding in building, programming, documentation, driving, strategy, etc. By mentoring these teams, we are working to expand a love of STEM in our community as well as getting younger kids excited for their future opportunites in robotics at Plainfield.

Quaker Day Parade/Booth

In Plainfield, Quaker Day represents a sense of community and appreciation for its citizens. The town holds a festival and parade. In 2023, our team had a booth in the festivities in addition to walking in the Quaker Day Parade. The purpose of our involvement was to increase awareness for FIRST robotics and what we do in our  community. Reaching out to the greater population rather than just the robotics community in Plainfield is imperative to a long-standing and supported program.
