Dorper Sheep

The Dorper is a fast growing, meat producing sheep with a characteristic white body and black head. It is a hair sheep, meaning, it sheds its light coat of wool and hair, on its own, every year. They are easy to fence and typically have one lamb at each birthing. The Dorper is extremely hardy. It thrives in arid environments as well as places with high rainfall, and extreme cold. The Dorper has a thick skin to protect itself in harsh climate conditions. This skin is extremely valuable and the most sought after of all sheep. Mature rams average 230 pounds and mature ewes average 190 pounds.

Growing Babies!

This is a ram we decide to keep. We are in the process of learning to walk with a halter. One day, he will provide half of our babies genetics!
